African Manufacturing and Consultants Company Limited, established in 2011, is an agro and food processing manufacturing solutions company bringing together a consortium of local and international specialist consultants and organisations. It exists as a vehicle for supporting agro and food processing businesses in Tanzania and in the region to develop their operations into competitive manufacturing entities. African Manufacturing and Consultants Company Limited, though recently incorporated, hosts over a decade of experience in agricultural supply chain in the form of directors and strategic partners that support world class consulting services to our clients. The key services of emphasis at present include and are not limited the following services, [1] design and erection of bulk grain silo storage systems; the current crops in focus for this service are cereals and oil seeds, [2] developing food packing/bottling improvement projects, on a turnkey solution basis with our partners.[3] Designing and delivering cold pressing and refining manufacturing processes inclusive of process concept, equipment specification and project management for installation; the product in focus is sun flower edible oil . The focus is small scale to medium scale operations UPGRADING using the UNIDO UPGRADING methodology. [4] Agro commodity strategic sourcing, logistics planning and execution. [5] Reliability Maintenance program audits for factories or mines and predictive based maintenance project development with SKF East Africa region as implementation partners.
The approach for the five service categories is research, project designing, networking and financial linkages.
MISSION
We at African Manufacturing and Consultants Company Limited view our purpose of existence as being wealth creators for business organisations in the agricultural supply chain and food processing sectors. We intend to achieve this through providing innovative consulting and support services to new or existing businesses in the sector. Our focus is on a comprehensive manufacturing systems approach which includes strategic supply chain planning, scientific demand forecasting, short to long term capacity planning, storage systems, equipment specification, process design, facility layout design and quality enhancement. We achieve this through setting up international project teams on a collaborative basis to deliver world class solutions to our clients.

African Manufacturing and Consultants Company Limited are incorporated under the companies Act, 2002 as a limited company. We are also registered as a tax payer and have the necessary local government licensing (See appendix)
MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE AND KEY PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED
Robert Luzane is the founder and manages the consulting process in the business. He has deployed manufacturing strategies in Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia working as an employee under two organisations, one of them being Cargill the largest privately owned global agro and food Business Company. The results in savings and improved operations efficiencies resulted in the formation of African Manufacturing and Consultants as a vehicle to take operations strategies to the agro primary and food processing sector in Tanzania. Robert Luzane is currently a Doctor of Business student specializing in competitive manufacturing strategies. He is also trained in the UNIDO UPGRADING methodology. African Manufacturing and Consultants is linked to a network of consultants located around the globe. Setting up collaboration arrangements is an ongoing process to expand our knowledge resource.
Vincent Mwamakimbula has both legal and business training experience. He also owns a freight forwarding, clearing and logistics company and brings with him knowledge in managing supply chains logistics. He also has interests in a law firm and petroleum retailing company. He has been in business for well over a decade.
Philip Saliboko has a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics with special emphasis in IT and information systems. He has held several management roles in private companies such as Mbeya Cement owned by Lafarge. He is currently completing his MBA. His current position is that of CEO of RITA (Registration Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency). He brings to the board a comprehensive and well balanced strategic perspective
Allen A.J. Mwakyoma is an Advocate of the High Court and the Managing Partner of Trustworth Attorneys. He also has business interests in an edible oils factory and a rice processing plant among other trading business interests. He brings to the board a clear understanding of the regulatory environment and medium sized business manufacturing ownership experience.
The following are some of the key projects and assignments that have been undertaken by Robert Luzane:
• Maize silo storage cleaning and packaging plant.2011. A plant design, with specified equipment and a full business plan was done for Tractors Limited. The project upon completion will have a storage capacity of 80,000MT for maize and other grains and will be able to process 2,000MT of maize a day on the cleaning and bagging lines. The project will be located in Kibaigwa the project was done as an independent consultant. The project value came up to $4,000,000.The implementation phase is expected in 2012.
• Cotton Ginnery/Processing plant.2006. Project management of a US$2,500,000 processing factory. This involved coordinating all engineers and contractors working on the project to adhere to standards and time frames. The project was managed from civil specifications to ensure alignment with plant machine designs right up to installation and commissioning training. The project was undertaken while employed by Cargill Tanzania in the Shinyanga region.
• Soya bean, sunflower and maize out grower logistics design.2009-2010.Set up and managed a transportation plan and collection centre networks for a geographical zone extending over 500km.This involved designing route plans and a central storage system where the products were bulked together and then transported to a final storage site 600km away to be readied for collection by oil and maize millers. This was done while employed by Cargill Zambia.
• Process improvements and other tasks.2008-2011. Improved the operating efficiency using a metric called “Reliability Efficiency” from 40% in 2008 to 90% in 2010, through a series of process improvement interventions on talent, procedure and technology fronts. Improved plant risk management profile from 53% to 80% as per Cargill global audit protocol. This was across six sites in Malawi and Zambia. Also carried out plant reliability initiatives in Zimbabwe and participated in plant decommissioning activities in South Africa, Marble Hall.

a. Dr Ricardo H .Alonso has worked in improving dairy production in Argentina, Honduras and Mexico. He is a passionate nutritionist by profession and is equally passionate about improving dairy production.
b. Willy Ganda (Zimbabwe), academically graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering honors degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering before proceeding to study for a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management at the National University of Science and Technology. He also has a Master of Philosophy degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. He has worked as a management consultant in a consulting firm and has significant experience in industry where he worked for many years rising up the corporate ladder until he was Chief Operations Officer. Willy has also consulted on various projects at corporate level.
c. Clemens Dampers (South Africa).CEO and owner of Blue Stallion Technologies, software providers and consultant for digital simulation of agro processes and food processes and testing operating design parameters prior to real life project implementation. He has an MSc in Physics from University of KwaZulu Natal South Africa.
d. Egon Keller GMBH&CO.KG (German), specialists in manufacturing cold press equipment for sunflower and other oil grains. They also provide spare parts and after sales consultation on technical matters including refinery linkages in Germany.
e. Alvan Blanch Development Company,(UK),British manufacturing and project engineering company with a global outlook ,specializing in the design, production and supply of quality machines and completely integrated systems for primary and secondary processing of agricultural produce and waste materials.
f. Yikai Group (China), established in 1996, covers an areas of 31,900m2 in total. They have more than 850 employees which include 80 technicians. The products are qualified to ISO9001-008 Quality Management System. Yikai Group includes 4 subsidiaries. Shandong Yikai Storage Engineering Co.,Ltd and Liaoning Yikai Storage Engineering Co.,Ltd are based on designing, producing, installing and maintaining of steel silos, grain handling equipment, grain cleaning, drying and processing equipment. The fully-automatic production line for steel silos can produce more than 5 million cubic meters of steel silos each year. Zibo Yikai Livestock Machinery Co.Ltd is a factory for feed mill equipment and animal feeding equipment. Qingdao Yikai international Trading Co.,Ltd is an import and export company for all kinds of equipment. Their strong engineering team and experience in producing and installing make Yikai a strong turn key projects bidder.
g. HMIC McEachern International,(Canada).They have years of experience starting in the late 1960s and continuing to today. Their experience involves a number of areas including global sourcing, market development, business expansion, international tendering and other activities involved in international business. HMIC is now an aggressive broker of agricultural commodities, palsies, juices and oils with suppliers and clients around the world dealing in large volume sales as well as container quantities .HMIC also has lines of production equipment for various applications.
h. Richard Ferguson, Ferguson Cardo Ltd, UK. Agricultural and food processing financing specialist. Co author of the “African Agriculture-This Other Eden.” Published by Renaissance Capital, 2011.
African Manufacturing and Consultants works with all these international organisations to develop the best solutions for our clients. We have been working with all these partners on various projects in the past. Our role is to formulate international project teams to deliver advisories or implementation projects. Our role is to design the agro or food processing production system in collaboration with our partners and then get them to manufacture according to client needs based designs.
